Barbeau

Some data produced by the research station since 2005 are located on different portals decribed below. If you need more recent ecosystem fluxes, meteorological data, ancillary data you cannot find on these different portals, please contact us by email or look at the "contact us" webpage.

• Ecosystem fluxes of CO₂, H₂O, latent (LE) and heat (H) energy.

  The forest ecosystem flux data (measured by eddy covariance, named EC data) are located on different portals, obtained by different calculation procedures.

  The European Fluxes Database Cluster

  
  
  The Barbeau flux data (GPP, NEE, Reco) located on this portal were acquired in the context of the GHG-Europe project. The data are calculated and curated by the station team, following the reference bilbiography and their own expertise on the studied ecosystem. The EC data are then uploaded on the database with radiation measurements (PPFD, net radiation, global radiation,...) and some other biometeorological variables.

  The ICOS carbon portal

  
  
  Since 2019, the Barbeau forest station is Class 1 ecosystem station in the ICOS european infrastructure.
  Raw data from standardized EC system and biometeorological data are recorded and sent automatically to the carbon portal each night. EC flux are calculated by the Ecosystem Thematic Center following standardized ICOS procedure.

  ICOS portal make also available a lot of data products on this link.
  As for other european ecosystems, the historical observational time series of Barbeau (before ICOS) are available in data release. The known data release available for our station are :
  - the Fluxnet2015 Dataset
  - the Drought-2018 ecosystem eddy covariance flux product
  - the Warm Winter 2020 ecosystem eddy covariance flux product

• Forest canopy images

  As well as others ecosystems around the world, the Barbeau forest is investigated for the impact of global change on the phenology, especially tree leaf phenology.
  
  
  
  The Phenocam network is a cooperative continental-scale phenological observatory that uses imagery from networked digital cameras to track vegetation phenology in a diverse range of ecosystems across North America and around the World. PhenoCam was established in 2008 and currently includes of over 700 sites. The image archive includes over 60 million pictures. Imagery and data are made publicly available in near-real time through the dedicated webpage.
  
  The Barbeau images are available since january 2022 on this specific link.

• Remote sensing data

  Since 2005, the Barbeau forest station is equipped with remote sensing devices. Among them, NDVI and PRI sensors are installed at the top of the tower, oriented to the forest canopy. During field campaigns, some spectral measurements were achieved at the leaf scale. Since 2021 and throughout the forest growing season, continuous monitoring of canopy reflectance and sun induced chlorophyll fluorescence at time steps of seconds to minutes has also been carried out from the tower using a system of very high spectral resolution spectrometers.
  
  
  
  The Barbeau forest station is included in the SpecNet global network. SpecNet (Spectral Network) is an international network of cooperating investigators and sites linking optical measurements with flux sampling for the purpose of improving our understanding of the controls on these fluxes. • Other Bio-meteorological data

  The Barbeau team is currently working on other way to share data that are not located on the above-cited data portals.
  
  The data.InDoRes portal is a french data portal powered by Dataverse, created and maintaned by the BBEES CNRS/MNHN unit located in Paris. It is a good candidate to host some Barbeau data.
